Small meteoroids have no trouble entering Martian atmosphere. Hence we can see a lot of craters on Mars. These craters are very visible due to the slow erosion process on Mars. Erosion on mars is 100 times slower than on Earth. Which means that a 1-km diameter crater will survive 100 million years on Mars but only 1 million years on Earth. To turn to another page for a moment, the same crater would remain intact on Moon for tens of billion of years.
